DIY// knitting with a loom

My sister and I are obsessed with knitting with a loom! It's easy, fast, and you don't have to bother with those pesky sticks and and making a mangled mess! We taught ourselves how to knit with a loom around Christmas time and made scarves for each other as gifts. My sister is currently working with this "peaches and creme" color-scheme in hopes to make a baby/lap blanket.

If you don't know how to knit, and would like to learn but are not really into the whole granny stick thing, a loom is perfect for you! There are tons of tutorials on Youtube, but I've found that *THIS* girl is the easiest to follow and has tons of other cool tutorials as well.

It's easiest to knit with a loom while doing something else, like watching TV or something. It can get repetitive and boring if you are an easily distracted person! But if you work on it long enough you'll end up really satisfied with your result.

I average a 4ft scarf over a span of two days, working off and on for a couple hours each day. I've made about 5 or so since Christmas and will probably stop during the summer time. But when fall comes around again, I'll pick it back up and start working on this year's Christmas presents! I even plan on making a special one for my neighbor who is turning 100 this year!

Sorry for the ramble!
Anyway, I hope this post encouraged someone!

BLOG// new look

So I've been up all night trying to decide how I want this blog to look! I think I've found a temporary fix that I like but I'm still not satisfied. I read so many blogs that inspire me but they are all VERY different. So how do I incorporate all the things that I love and make me, me without it looking like a complete mess? I don't know. I guess give me your feedback of what you think. For I am completely lost!

PHOTOGRAPHY// rainy day photos

It was another grey and wet day today so I turned the weather into a positive thing and went outside to take some pictures. I focused mainly on capturing the water droplets on the trees. I thought they looked so pretty and perfect.

That's my dorm window in the background, haha.

This one is my favorite. Mostly because my camera finally was able to focus on it!

If its rainy in your area go out and enjoy it!

ART// melted crayon art

So I finally gave in and joined the melted crayon art bandwagon. Here are some pictures of my project:

This is my favorite part of the whole thing; the wax melts and splatters everywhere when you move the hair-dyer back and forth. Super cool effects!

I spray painted my canvas gold before I started instead of the typical white. I encourage you to try this as home! It's super fun and easy.

DIY// earring display

So this is my earring display/storage I made a few months ago. It's made from some twine, two twigs, burlap and hot glue! All cheap materials you probably already have laying around.

I have this hanging in my dorm room with all my favorite earrings.

Target, 7.99

Forever 21, 3.99

Just glue the twigs to the burlap, and then the twine and hang on the wall to display your earrings!
