 So I recently obtained a new DSLR camera! It's a Nikon D3100, and I am very much in love with it... Although I honestly dont know how to work it very well. I am learning however, and to help further improve I asked my friends to volunteer as models for me. So the beautiful and lovely Lauren assisted me Sunday afternoon, and we had ourselves a photo shoot outside. I took well over 100 pictures but these were my favorites that came out.

Hey guys! My sister and I took some pictures outside today and these two were the "good ones" that came out. I don't know which effect I like more though. The first once is much clearer but the second one is whimsical and summer-esque. Tell me what you think.

Some updates!

I have been working really hard on my Look Book, and if you guys have one, I would love it if you fanned me so I could fan you back! I also have been making some videos for my Youtube. Nothing special yet, just little odd and end ones: tagged videos, PLL episode reactions, etc. I plan on doing some DIY videos too every now and then. 

So I think that's about it! Thank you for all the positive feedback on my Americana shorts!

Photo editing websites are more than just a website you can go to add a cool effect to your pictures. You can seriously upgrade the look and feel of your photos using the tools they provide you. If you know how to use one of these websites correctly, you could save lots of money on software like Photoshop that's uber expensive. 

This is just a quick post of some pictures my friend took of me and how I made them even better! I used PicMonkey to edit them, but I also love Pixlr! Those are my top two. If you know any cool editing sites, let me know in the comments below!

 As you can see from these two pictures, there is a huge difference! The second one is a bit warmer, and I added a special focus to my face so it's the first thing you look at when you look at these pictures. The colors are more vivid, too. Play around with the effects, layer them up, try some fancy focus, and you might come up with your own signature effect!

PHOTOGRAPHY// model assignment

While I'm waiting to get paid and get my DIY on, I thought I'd share my last photo assignment I had in my photography class.  Basically, we had to experiment with taking pictures using only one light source, and see how that source affected the photographs taken. The focus was not so much on the quality of the picture, but how the light fell on the models and the effects made. Here are my favorites. You may recall I used one in one of my previous posts a few days ago.

My latest photography assignment was quite interesting. We had two models (well, student volunteers) come in and stand behind two screens and pose for us. We had to take 24 shots of each model to turn in for our portfolios. Here are some of my favorite shots that came out. Some are kinda eerily cool. Reminds me of ghosts or something.

My latest photography class assignment was to take some pictures of flowers in this botanical garden we have in town. I got some really good shots and wanted to share them with you!  Not sure if I'm going to go back and edit some more. Anywho, these are my favorites.

So my favorite -ahem- flower, has finally decided to start popping up again: The Dandelion. Ever since I was little I would hunt these things down and make a wish and blow as hard as I could to watch it disappear into the air and float away. 

I was outside around dusk yesterday hanging out with John and some other friends when I noticed a little patch of them. The sun caught them so pretty that I had to take some photos.

DIY// easy polaroids

I love my polaroid camera! It's really cool AND it's vintage. Unfortunately, so is the film used to make the cool instant pictures. It's like $60+ for 10 or more and I'm not about to spend all my money on something I could make for almost nothing. Sorry, Mr. Polaroid, looks like you're just gonna sit pretty on my shelf until I can afford to use you. This is how I make my polaroids. Yeah they're not real, but shhhh! What they don't know won't hurt them!
