DECOR// easy room decor + thrift finds

Since moving to college, my room at home has been kinda blah and boring. So to spruce things up a bit, I used very simple and inexpensive things.

(Above) I put some books I have and some old photo albums on a shelf with my mom's old radio on one end, and my polaroid camera on the other.

Of course, you can NEVER go wrong with some dream catchers!

If you have a loved one that lives far away like I do, frame a map of the state or country/region they live in. I drew a heart around the city my loved one lives in.

This is the corner of my dresser. Here I have some fake flowers in a vase that I thrifted from Goodwill. It's one of my favorite finds! The colors go great with my room, and the design is so pretty.
I also have some DIY art that I found on Pinterest, and a small brass box that I also found at my local Goodwill.

Look around your local thrift shop! You'll never know what you will find!

THRIFT// vintage pocket mirror

I found this little treasure at my Goodwill just sitting by its lonesome on the shelves with all the knicky-knacks. I snatched it before anyone else could -cue evil laughter-.

It is the prettiest little thing I've ever found at Goodwill.

I have no idea when it was made, but it reminds me of the 50's and 60's.

I want to use it, but it also looks so nice sitting on my dress with my other trinkets.

It's also been handy to take some pretty reflective/mirror pictures.

I hope your Saturday was awesome, and don't forget to turn forward your clocks tonight!

DIY// quirky candlesticks

This is just a quick something I wanted to share with you! I was inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest of knock off Anthropologie candlesticks. The sticks were nothing but knick knacks glued together and were being sold at $98! Well, the DIY I saw looked not only just like them, but I think they looked even better. So I thought I'd give it a try too. Unfortunately, my Goodwill was slacking in the knick knack department so I had to downsize mine to a simpler version. So these are mine!

I kinda really love them a lot! They remind me of that Shabby Chic look that was popular a while ago. They are currently on my dresser looking pretty and patiently waiting for a candle to be placed in them!
