DIY// first diy of 2013! graphic tee

I am literally dying for summer to be here so I can finally wear all my pretty colorful clothes! It's still so chilly here! So while I'm still stuck inside I managed to throw together this little DIY for you. It's inspired by a graphic tee I saw on Forever21's website.

Ingredients:

And a t-shirt! I used this old tie dye one.

Measure out a triangle on your cardstock to use as a template. The base of mine was 5 inches, and each side was 7 inches.

Tape your template to your shirt to secure it. Put a piece of paper inside the shirt so that the paint won't seep through to the other side.

Start painting!

Once you have the outline painted, you can take the stencil off and fill in the rest!

Ta-dah!

Hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for another t-shirt DIY coming soon!

FASHION// new shoes... (a new post?! holy cow!)

Oh wow, is this a new post? It's been awhile, my friends!

Well, two Sundays ago (October 21) was my 20th birthday (WHOO) and I received four pairs of shoes as presents. I thought I'd share with you these beauties and what I like about them.
Because they are all some sort of a "boot" I thought I'd edit my pictures in a grungy sort of way, since they tend to remind me of the 90's a lot.

This first pair is from the almighty Goodwill. They are SO 90's, I couldn't believe I had found such an awesome shoe that actually fit! I have no idea if these are supposed to be a men or womens shoe, but who cares! They match beautifully with my plaid flannels and button downs. I don't even mind that the left shoe is a bit worn out. It gives it character!

The side buckle is my favorite part!

Next are these beauties by Arizona. Velvet. Combat. Boots. When did I die and go to Heaven? My mother bought me these and I am just in love. I drool when I look at them.

They are a dark royal blue, almost navy-esque, with a soft velvet texture. I'm so scared to wear them out, however. I don't want to ruin them.

If you are a Target shopper, you may have spotted these bad boys already. I am love with wedges and the oxford style of this boot is just gorgeous. They pair perfectly with anything leopard.

And yes, I found another pair of Lita knock offs! The toe is a bit more pointed than I would like it, but who cares? They are SO comfortable. One of the most comfortable heels/booties I own.

I found these at our local Charming Charlie for about 40 bucks.

Hope you enjoyed! I missed you guys!

INSPIRATIONS// acid wash denim

all images are via tumblr

Acid wash denim is seriously one of the coolest trends right now. I just bought a pair of acid wash skinnies from JCP and they are awesome! This is also a very DIY-able trend. Though, unlike most clothing DIY's, acid wash is very tricky to pull off successfully. So, for now I'm just going to thrift it. I'd rather not risk killing my clothes!

Class started yesterday and so far, so good! Bio is going to be the death of me though!

FASHION + DIY// cross cut out tee

I made this cross cut out t-shirt yesterday. I saw a tutorial for it on Youtube and had to give it a try. At first I drew out some of my pattern onto the shirt and started cutting but as time progressed, I found it much easier to just free hand it. I also don't know how this will be if I washed it. I'm afraid the washer would tear the strips connecting the rectangles apart and then it would be another DIY fail for me! I do want to try this again with another kind of pattern, though.

I am going to try to take lots of outfit pictures today for my Lookbook, so stay posted. I also want to make a DIY video for my Youtube, but I am not sure what on yet. Requests?

FASHION// OOTD + a wardrobe trick

So lately Ive been getting kinda bored with my wardrobe, but lack the money to do anything about it. Story of my life! But I was playing around yesterday with this body-con skirt I have, and I thought, I could so wear this as a tube top! So I tried it on, and sure enough, it fits perfectly for a strapless top!
Moral of the story, if you get bored with your clothes, find new ways to wear them until you have money to splurge!

My John is finally coming to see me today! Gotta go get pretty, check you guys later :)

FASHION// OOTD: these boots were made for walking

Are boots summer appropriate? Oh, who cares! I like them a lot with this dress which is actually my sisters. I made the collar, too. The DIY can be found here.

Check out my Look Book!

FASHION// OOTD: criss crossed

This shirt is probably one of the most interesting pieces in my closet. I love the open back and criss crossed material. And I know what you're thinking, "Allie you wear those stupid shoes in every single outfit." And I'm going to tell you I know I am, haha. They are my favorite and most of my other shoes are more of a fall and winter shoe. Plus these are the most comfortable shoes I've probably ever owned other than my normal flip flops I wear around on lazy days. So, whatever!

It's been raining for days here, I can't wait for it to stop so I can take outfit pictures outside for once!

Hope your Saturday was full of adventure!
